About Windows 7 Review

Windows 7 Review has been around since last year. It’s only in January 2009 that trying out the Beta on an HP Touchsmart gave me the chance to write about the things that I most love about Windows 7 i.e.

  1. MultiTouch.
  2. Windows 7 as the most important operating system of the last 5 years, and perhaps ever.
  3. All the cool new features.

More recently, I bought a $290 TechNet Subscription to get my hands on the RTM build, and have been playing around with Windows 7, including -

  1. An IE8 build that, so far, does not suck like the one in the Beta.
  2. Windows Touch Pack .
  3. The Features.
  4. My two monitor display that did not work on the Beta and does now.

The hope is to review windows 7 and play around with windows 7 software and help you -

  1. Decide whether windows 7 is the best OS choice for you.
  2. Which Windows 7 Software to use.
  3. Figure out How to get the best out of Windows 7.

And in general have a great Windows 7 experience.

Windows 7 Top Sections

These are the sections I’d recommend starting off with -

  1. Windows 7 Software
  2. Windows 7 Reviews
  3. Multi-Touch
  4. Windows 7 Tips, Features
  5. Windows 7 Analysis

Soon, I’ll have a very well elucidated review of Windows 7 as an operating system.

Why I blog about Windows 7 – Version 1

When I found out that Windows 7 would have multi-touch, I was super excited - it’s a really long time since I’ve been as excited about software (well, to be fair I’ve been as excited about Fallout3, BioShock and Amazon’s WindowShop in the last year or so). I was fascinated by Windows 7 to the point that I’ve bought a HP TouchSmart PC (1st week of Jan 2009) and will be running Windows 7 Beta 1 as my primary OS.

I’ve had some success blogging about technology and it made sense to write about Windows 7 and focus on the features and present a comprehensive list of pros and cons. Most articles out about Windows 7 and even most reviews are pre-judged i.e. people have already decided what they think of Windows 7 even before trying it out. This means that in most cases they don’t really review the actual OS and how it affects/improves/deteriorates their computing experience.

Even though I am pro-Windows, I will and am writing very fairly about all the pros and cons. The aims for this site are -

  1. To Help You figure out whether Windows 7 would work for you.
  2. If you have Windows 7, to help you figure out what software works well on Windows 7 and what you should get.
  3. Occasional news and other updates on Windows 7. However, this is not a news site – the aim is to write timeless material (or at least material that is timeless during Windows 7’s lifespan).

Thanks for visiting the site – please do visit again, and let me know how I could do a better job in fulfilling the aims of this blog.

V1.0: This blog is all about Windows 7 – videos, reviews, and all the information to help you make a good decision on whether or not you should purchase it, and information to make the most of it after you’ve purchased it. Thanks for visiting and let us know of any way in which we can do a better job.
